10/17/2018 Beautification CommitteeAs the temps (and leaves) are dropping, we have replaced summer plantings around the school with cold-tolerant mums and pumpkins. The Butterfly Garden will soon be weeded, trimmed, and mulched before the ground freezes. Also on the horizon is the creation of a Kindness Garden along the south side of the school. Plans are underway to add a few artistic touches that will add color to that area and encourage kind thoughts. In addition, a few bulbs will be planted there for some spring flowers.
If you are interested in helping or donating planting materials, please contact Sheila Hillier at [email protected]. 10/5/2018 Famous Artist Series – Fall This fall parent volunteers will be headed to the classroom to present a famous artist. All classrooms K-5 will learn about modern art painter Mondrian. Our children will see images of his artwork, learn about his history and even make a piece of art in the style of Mondrian. Keep an eye out in the main hallway for posters of famous artists' works on display for Adler Gators to see. Thanks in advance to all the presenters! The students and teachers have had a great response to this AFA program since it started 2 years ago. Piece of art by Piet Mondrain
